Let Downtown Grand Island Light Up Your Christmas!
Follow the wagon carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus to all the fun downtown. Kick off the holidays with the tree lighting at Amur Plaza on Third Street. The kids can find games and crafts and visit with Santa and his reindeer. Then, take a break and enjoy sweet treats and other delicious fare at the many restaurants and food trucks. Enjoy the sights and sounds of holiday music at the Plaza stage. And get a start on your shopping at the many boutiques and vendors. Start a tradition in Railside!

On the first Saturday of August for years, Railside opened Third Street for the Grand Theater Car Show. The show is free for participants and the public to enjoy over 200 interesting and unique cars and motorcycles. Trophies are presented in categories such as best restoration, best chick magnet, seen it in a movie, and others that add to the lighthearted memory lane created by so many beautiful rides.

High School and Junior High Bands from all over Nebraska come to march in this annual Grand Island, Nebraska parade. The Parade steps off at 8:15 a.m., starting on 4th and Elm Street, continuing through the Eddy Street underpass, and then proceeding through the route (approximately .6 miles) down 3rd Street.
